She has witnessed the heartbreak of splintered families, who lack values and traditions that bind parent and child together. Her husband Dave, who started out as a Juvenile Court Magistrate, saw the same destruction every day. One of their dreams is to provide inspiration for family life that honors God and makes every family member feel welcomed and loved. Another is to demonstrate how trustworthy the SAVIOR really is. Her first book, Traditions & Recipes that Say WELCOME HOME All Year 'Round was written to encourage families to start traditions and to celebrate with each other the seasons of the year. One of her 3rd grade students said, "Oh I get it! It is like a how to book in the home for Moms." That about sums it up. :0)

The grief chapters are the result of much real life loss as several Liz loved went home to glory while she was composing her book. Many have shared that those chapters were VERY helpful. How to Plan a Funeral: and Other Things You Need to Know When a Loved One Dies came about when Dave's father went home to glory and Liz took on the rather daunting task of planning the memorial service for the family. She found no books to aid her at the bookstore and Liz believes everyone should have help for such an arduous task. She spent much of two years researching the topic and has compiled the information into her latest book. While the topic is sad, the book is not. Encouragement and hope abound in this little volume.
